LECTURE HiStories / Geschichte(n) w/ Jonathan Monk
18. März 2016 19:00
In the series „HiStories / Geschichte(n)“ artists share their thoughts on the works of other artists. Even though their own work will not be discussed directly, the lectures instead reflect their influences, tastes and interests. „HiStories / Geschichte(n)“ is a subjective history of art putting works at the forefront that provide a space for reflection on the artists own artistic practice.
Jonathan Monk often interprets iconic art historical works from the 20th century and integrates them as a meta-level in his own works. In the exhibition „One, No One and One Hundred Thousand“ he exhibits a work entitled; „Jonathan Monk presents three chairs and a coat rack by Franz West“.
